This swing is made from premium quality Accoya*, handcrafted for years of use.

The swing is suitable for children and adults and add a lovely feature to any garden. They look great personalised with children’s names, house names or sayings e.g. UP UP & AWAY, REACH FOR THE STARS etc.

I only use prime quality (no knots or splits) Accoya that has been thoroughly kiln dried.  All my timber is FSC 100% (Global Forest Certification System) and is ethically sourced from sustainable forests. (Documentation is available).

*Accoya® is wood, but not as you know it. It is modified timber in which a process called acetylation, a cutting-edge patented technology, enables it to resist rot, defy the elements and stay strong for decades. Guaranteed for 50 years above ground and 25 years in ground or freshwater, its performance and properties are remarkable and suitable for a multitude of uses from joinery for the home to bridges submerged in water.

The ropes are polyhemp which gives very long life whilst being soft on the hands and still retaining that traditional look and feel. We hand splice the ropes to add an additional feature to this attractive swing. they are spliced over seven times on each side and the ends heat sealed to prevent fraying. Braking strain for this rope is 5.5 tonnes and there are two of them – so pretty strong!

The swing comes with solid oak adjusting blocks so that you can easily adjust each rope to make the swing flat and at your desired height from the ground. They also make it very easy to take the swing down if needed. A leaflet will be provided with your order clearly showing you how to hang your swing, explaining the common ways to fix your swing to a branch. It also includes some important safety information.
