Oak Round Swing

Our round oak swing is made from premium quality oak and is hand crafted on the lathe. This type of swing is great fun for children and the ‘young at heart’ – a great addition to any garden with its simple, natural design.

The oak is 45mm (1.75inches) thick and the rope has a breaking strain of over 5 tonnes. Each piece of our quality, kiln dried wood is sustainably sourced, carefully chosen and expertly crafted to make your product. Our swings can be left outside and will remain structurally strong despite any signs of weathering due to the wood’s naturally high levels of tannin.

The swing comes with 5 metres of 22 mm Poly Hemp Rope. Poly Hemp Rope is ultra strong and soft making it easy to grip. It is weatherproof, UV resistant and will not change size when wet. Because of this it has an incredible long life span.

RING END FITTINGS – Marine grade stainless steel fittings for our swings.

My ring end fittings make hanging or taking down the swings quick and easy. This optional extra involves splicing a steel ring to the end of the hanging rope,  an additional ring and carabiner so all you need to do is wrap the rope three or more times around the branch and attach back onto the rope as shown in the image.

If you purchase the swing with plain ends all you will need to do is tie the ends to a suitable branch using a bowline knot (a quick search on YouTube will give you plenty of help and advice about securing your swing plus I will send a leaflet with your order as well explaining the usual ways of fixing your swing to a branch which includes some important safety information.

OAK CARE: Exposure to the elements such as sun or rain will turn the oak silvery over time. Cracks will come and go, and some may stay spending on the conditions and surroundings of your swing’s home. This natural effect gives each product its own unique, beautiful appearance as it ages.

Please note it is the customers responsibility to hang the swing correctly.
